Established in June 1988, the Civil Pension Fund Investment Company (CPFIC) was to: use its resources to invest either in the Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) or in the private equity realm. Also there were chalenges which at times made investing a difficult task CPFIC has successfully met its objective by increasing its assets by 644% over the last five years. In addition to being a successful investment company, CPFIC has been a key player in shaping the investment climate and community. Today CPFIC rank as the second largest listed investment company in terms of capital and the tenthly largest listed company both in terms of market capitalization and capital. Despite a market downturn on the TSE, due to its prudent and proactive investing strategy, CPFIC has weathered the situation by looking for similar private equity investments.
